Lay it down.
Whatever weighs you down,
because there
is
SOMEONE
Who not only wants to carry your extra weight,
but carry you.
DO YOU BELIEVE IT?
Are you having a hard time
LETTING GO
of that one thing that you just won't let go?
Abraham had to do,
with something that he loved beyond himself~
His little boy Isaac
Who was a miracle born to Sarah & him in their ripe old age.
And then God asked him
to not only let go of his son,
but in a way that was incomprehensible~
To make him a sacrifice.
I could just image what Abraham was thinking
as I know what I would be~
BBBBuuuut God,
Not my child.
Not the one that you gave me.
And God said,
YES!
So Abraham made the choice to
LET GO
of
his most precious gift.
They climbed the mountain together.
They gathered the wood together.
And then it happened.
Abraham asked Isaac to lay down.
And there Abraham stood
looking down upon his son,
who was never a burden,
but now became the
burden of letting go.
So he took his knife.~
"But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven,
“Abraham! Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “
Do not do anything to him.
Now I know that you fear God,
because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” Genesis 22:11-12
But God
was there the whole time.
He knew what He was doing,
but boy oh boy
what an excruciating test this was as
He was
Taking Abraham
to a deeper level in his faith~
To Trust a God
he loved and
knew that
His ways are not our ways
and that
His ways are not to destroy and hurt.
He just wants
All of you
All of me
to
LET GO
of all our
"Isaacs".
They come in all different shapes and sizes~
A habit
A worry
A fear
A bitterness
and yes
sometimes
A person
whom we love beyond comprehension
whether
their health is failing
whether
they are a prodigal
whether
they are no longer here, but the pain they caused
is still a burdensome weight
that you just can't
LET GO.
We can hold on tightly and
God will allow us to,
but what He really desires is for us to
LOVE HIM
"with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." Deuteronomy 6:4
Because
He so loves us beyond our comprehension because
He knows what it feels like
as
He had to
Let Go of His most
Prized Possession
His Son Jesus
who also said~
“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment." Matthew 22: 37-38
Oh how when we love something or someone so much
that we just can't
LET GO.
But boy oh boy
the moment we place our
"Isaacs"
on the chopping block~
LETTING GO
to a
God
who loves us with
His whole heart, soul and mind~
He not only takes away
the weight of the burden that we insist on carrying ourselves
but
He fills us
with a peace & a hope & a joy that transcends all understanding.
Oh I know
how excruciating it is when
God takes you to a deeper level in your faith
To Trust Him
with your
"Isaac".
But it has been a way for me to experience
"how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is." Ephesians 3:18
And He isn't done with me yet.

LET GO
today so that
God will take you
FROM RAGS TO RICHES
so that you~
"May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.
Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."
Ephesians 3:19
