Great is His Faithfulness

Writer's picture: JoniJoni

As I looked into the eyes of

my mother-in-law

&

she looked into mine,

whether she knew me or not,

I know her.

She is the Mother of my husband

and to his sister and his brother.

She is the Grandmother of 8.

She is the Great-Grandmother of 7.

She is

Joan Jones~

one whose name I share,

but only with an "i".

A person who

was once very young.

A person who once was

in love and married to her Hoyt.

A person who is still a person

who looked back into my eyes,

as communication is hard,

and then I did it~

I played

her favorite hymns

on my phone

and placed it close to her ear.

Hymns of

Blessed Assurance

Hymns of how

Great is His Faithfulness

Hymns of

How Great Though Art.

As I am not a hymn person,

I became one in that moment

as peace filled the room

and so did tears

as I sang

His Truths

because

we only have one

Blessed Assurance~

"This is my story, this is my song Praising my Savior all the day long This is my story, this is my song Praising my Savior all the day long"

And yes

when everything around you is falling apart

Great is His Faithfulness~

"Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!"

In the quietness of the room

as I looked into her eyes,

reminding me

of the changing times

of the clicking clock

as time goes by so fast

for all of us

I was reminded that

My Hope is Built on Nothing Less~

"On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand."

Hope filled the room

as tears did too

as

God reminded me that

He is God

and

that will never change

because

How Great Thou Art~

"Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art"

Hug your loved ones

and ask them to hug you.

Please keep

Joan Jones in your prayers.
