The question was posed,
“ What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”
Hmm..
I know this answer sounds so Christianese,
but it is what truly came in my heart,
because I knew if I did the following
then I would never be afraid to do anything.
My answer~
Total abandonment to God!
To trust Him fully with me, myself and I and everyone else.
I love how the following words describe this~
"To abandon ourselves to God means that we must leave ourselves alone.
We must take our hands off of ourselves,
and fall unconditionally into His hands." (Depra)
Even though I believe I have done this,
it was time to do it again
because I was still holding onto
too much of myself.
So I picked up an empty
Mussel Shell
that was still hinged together,
and stood at the water's edge.
As I prayed, I began to detach the shell,
as one side representing me
and the other side representing everything else that I am attached to.
And then it happened...
Right before the break
the shell
looked like a
Butterfly
Free to fly
Unafraid
because it was
no longer
a struggling caterpillar
crawling along the ground
dreaming about the day
it would have wings
that would set it free.
Today is the day
To open your wings
In
Total Abandonment
to the
One
who has given
you and I wings
to
Fly
right now
Unafraid~
no matter what you may be feeling
no matter what you may not have
no matter what you are waiting to happen~
To detach
from whatever is weighing down you wings
and
attach to the One who enables you to fly
because
"Those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God]
like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired." Isaiah 40:31
Are you
Ready to Fly?
