Day 43: The Last

"So the last will be first, and the first will be last." Matthew 20:6

WHAT????

But I want to be first in line.

I want to get the first piece of cake.

I want to be the first.

I don’t want to be last,

because isn’t the first the best?

Well, depending on how you look at it.

The Last~

Your last meal

before the diet.

Can’t you just taste it~

Eating all the “forbidden” foods as if you will never get to eat them again.

Your

The Last Supper

His Last Supper

Did the disciples really understand that this really was

Jesus’ Last Supper~

Last Supper

before He was to be crucified?

And

what did Jesus do~

He spent His

Last Supper

ministering to His disciples

one more time

before He left earth

so they could

“…grasp how wide and long and high and deep…” Ephesians 3:17

His love was

for them

for us

as He shared this

Last meal

with the one

who would send Him right to the cross,

as Jesus looked directly into His betrayer’s face

and shared

His Last Supper

But…

whose last supper was it really?

It was Judas’s last

because

he couldn’t live with himself after he saw what his betrayal would do

to the

One

whom he followed~

but

for 30 pieces of silver

he sold his birthright

just as

Esau sold his birthright at

his last supper at being first.

Now picture yourself sitting around Jesus' table

at your

His Last Supper

where He lifts up the bread and

"gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and said,

'This is my body, which is given for you'"...

and then as He lifts up the glass of wine and said,

“This cup is the new covenant between God and His people

—an agreement confirmed with my blood…

~representing His blood that would be shed

at

your

Last Supper

Do you get it?

Do you really get it~

That the King of your heart,

Who loves you so much,

would spend

His Last Supper

with you,

knowing that you & I

would

deny Him,

but

He did it anyway.

The

His Last Supper

was for us….

"Do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-25

His Last Supper

is

Our Last Supper

when we remember

Our Savior

when we eat of Him

&

drink of Him

because

you

“ have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end.

Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God". I Peter 1:23

Now

are you ready to

Fast

from being

Last

from experiencing

His Peace

His Joy

His Hope

at

Last?

So

today

as you remember

His Last Supper

Put

Him

First

because

He has called you

to be

First

at

His Last Supper

because

He personally carried our sins in His body

on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By His wounds you are healed.

Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.

I Peter 2:24-25
