Study Hall~
a time to catch up on homework
a time to study
or just a time do nothing~
a break
a time to be still.
What if every day you had a study hall,
when you just stopped
and did nothing
and said nothing
and watched nothing.
What would you think about
when you had nothing that you had to think about?
Hmm...
I am sure you are thinking about "that" now.
What is on your mind
What is on your heart~
beyond the to do list for the day?
In the quiet stillness
just you, yourself
and your mind and your heart
and I almost forgot~
God
yup
God~
because He is with you right this second,
being still with you
being present
just wanting to listen
to what is on your heart~
whatever you are thinking about
when you have nothing else to think about.
It could be thanksgiving for all that you have and all that He has done for you.
It could be grief over something that was and is no longer going to be.
It could be anxiety and fear about something that you have to face.
It could be pure Peace, Hope, Love, and Joy
because you are
being still
knowing that
God is God
and that He is sitting with you now
With
His Peace~
that transcends all understanding...
“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does.
Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” John 14:27
With
HIs Hope~
that is a better hope that whatever else you may be hoping for...
Let all that I am wait quietly before God for my hope is in Him. Psalm 62:5
With
His Love~
that fills a broken heart...
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
With
His Joy~
that is the wind beneath your wings...
When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy. Psalm 94:19
Well, I gotta go
and
be still
with the One who is sitting with me
with the One who knows me
with the One whose
peace
love
joy
&
hope
I need
because
what I am thinking about
when I have nothing else that I have to think about
wants to
take over my mind
and
take over my heart.

Because
He knows.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
