because I knew the stories
but I didn't have a relationship with Him
until
He connected my head to my heart.
Below is a writing from long ago
after studying
the Book of Luke
that transformed
this Pharisee
to a Believer
when
Jesus....
SILENCES
the questioning Zechariah in me~
as I become like Mary BELIEVING that I carry the Christ child inside of me. Luke 1
BAPTIZED
me with the Holy Spirit~
A power available to me at any time…when I choose to plug into it. Luke 3
ENABLES
me to walk in victory when I am in the desert~
by giving me His word to speak against the tempter Luke 4
FULFILLED
Isaiah 61~
So He can preach the good news to my poor spirit and
Set me free from the prisons I build Luke 4
ADAPTS
in me the infamous Nike “Just Do It” attitude of the first disciples~
as I daily drop my “nets” so I can follow Him. Luke 5
HEALS
the paraplegic in me~
as He forgives me so I am able to walk away from the things that paralyze me. Luke 5
Makes me LAUGH~
as He loves to stir up the crowds by breaking the “Laws”. Luke 6
BLESSES
me through all of my woes~
as He Feeds my hungry heart,
turns my wailing into dancing, and
Accepts and Loves me through insult and rejection. Luke 6
REMOVES
the plank out of my eye,
chipping it out, piece by piece~
as I Do Unto Others. Luke 6
HEALS
strained relationships~
through my passing on His forgiveness. Luke 7
ADDS
more concrete to my wobbly foundation~
as I take action and walk the talk. Luke 7
BREAKS
my alabaster bottles of sin at His feet~
so He can wash me clean. Luke 7
WEEDS
away the thorns my life~
to make room for a firmly planted seed. Luke 8
SHINES
through me~
when I give Him the GLORY for the changes in my life. Luke 9
I TRADE
the approval of men for God’s~
as I am not ashamed of Christ,
as I carry His expensive cross. Luke 9
He has TAUGHT
me the true meaning of the word "all". Luke 10
CALMS
the crazy performance oriented Martha in me. Luke 10
OPENS
my door~
when I ask, seek, and knock with confidence. Luke 11
HUMBLES
the Pharisee in me. Luke 11
REMINDS
me of the Sparrows~
when I start fluttering into worry. Luke 12
FINDS
me~
when I am seeking my own way. Luke 12
“READIES”
me~
to face Jesus. Luke 12
THINS
me out~
so I can fit through the narrow door. Luke 13
I become PERSISTENT
in Seeking God’s face first~
instead of persistently seeking to get my own way. Luke 15
I ENJOY
His Spiritual kingdom here on earth like I never did before. Luke 17
TEACHES
me that the word "impossible" is not in God’s vocabulary. Luke 18
....to be forever continued....

Lessons continually being learned
as how quickly I forget
but how quickly
He reminds me
as I open up
The Book
And
Read
His Word
that Has the power
to daily
change the Pharisee in me
into a
Believer
and this is only from a couple of chapters
as
there is so much more
because He is so much more
for me and for you~
as we become less
so He becomes more
AND
all that I have to do
all that you have to do
is to
receive
Him
believe
Him
and
grab His hand
like a child
on Christmas morning who
immediately opens
and
immediately receives
the gifts
with joy and thanksgiving.
That’s how we are to receive Jesus
and all His gifts just because
He loves us!
