Day 19: Directionally Challenged

Today is the big race

When 1000s of people will show up

to run

to walk

to skip

5 miles

to do whatever it takes

to finish the race.

The course will be filled with energy

as bystanders

cheer on the runners

from start to finish

as they run the course

that is set before them.

Following the leader

following the one

in front of me

as I don't know the course

as I am beyond

Directionally Challenged

but I won't get lost

because I will follow the crowd

to the finish line.

But...

What if the leader of the pack

changed the course

where would all of the runners end up~

at his/her finish line

because they

because I

will follow the leader

even over a cliff.

Just like sheep

as sheep

have an instinct to follow the sheep in front of them~

if one jumps off a cliff

they will all jump off

wherever

their leader leads

no thinking allowed.

Directionally Challenged~

in need of a

Good Shepherd

To Trust in with all my heart

to point me

in the right direction

to get me back on course

because

I am

Directionally Challenged

wandering

when

I am following my own way. Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105

In need of a Good Shepherd

Jesus spoke to them, saying," I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 18:12

In need of a Good Shepherd

My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of My hand. John 10:27-28

The Good Shepherd

Whose eyes I am to be fixed on

as I run

as you run

this race called

life.

So

let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

By following

The Good Shepherd

by

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2

Who will never lead us off a cliff...

but if

He did

He would be right there to

catch us.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
