Out of my wounded heart grew a flower
a flower with petals of
peace
joy
love
&
hope
It grew from a seed planted
in a hole in my heart,
that had firm roots.
A hole that I used to fill with
food
anger
bitterness
self loathing
and
anxiety,
which never had the power to produce a flower,
only dead weeds.
No matter how hard I tried to grow something from these impostors,
nothing but
frustration
restlessness
hopelessness
and
helplessness
remained.
I had to look up
and ask my
Creator
to come into my heart
and do something,
as I was beyond weary.
He listened
and
planted the seed of my
Savior~
my Heart Surgeon~
who has been watering that seed since.
As I try to fill my other heart holes with dead seeds,
I am prompted by the
Spirit
within
to look up
and
ask my
Creator
to fill the hole
so another flower will grow,
blooming with
His
peace
love
joy
&
hope.
Dead roots...Dead weeds
Living roots...Flourishing flowers

Produce a crop. Luke 8:15
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23
“He heals up the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3
