You are thirsty
Really thirsty
So
You fill a glass of water
You know
that it will quench your thirst
You believe
that it will taste good,
but you don't drink it.
Sounds silly
doesn't it?
Now picture this~
You are hungry
Really hungry
You pick out your favorite item on the menu
It is placed before you
You know
that it will satisfy your hunger
You believe
it will taste good
but you don't eat it.
Sounds silly
doesn't it?
Now picture this~
You are thirsty
Really thirsty
You are hungry
Really hungry
for
Peace
Joy
Hope
Love
So you
Hear the words~
"I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger,
and he who believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:35
You know
the words
You believe
the Words
but you are
Still hungry
Still thirsty
even though it is right there~
The Food
The Drink
We have it all.
We
know
what we

know.
So where’s the power?
I know that Jesus came to save me
I know that I am a Daughter of the King, who is loved unconditionally
I
know that I have the Holy Spirit in me, infusing with me power...
I know ~ I know ~ I know ~

and begin my day
and as soon as life starts trickling in
I react,
like an orphan~
worried
anxious
fearful
doubting
And
cry out~
Where are you God?
And then He answers me....
I am here Joni, where are you?
Great answer
because
Jesus hasn't gone anywhere
nor has the Holy Spirit
or His word
He is all there~
it’s me that has moved.
Knowing and Receiving
are two different things~
as
Knowing
God's word,
I would recite...
“Be still and know” and
“do not be anxious for anything”...
over and over again
and wonder why I am still filled with
anxiety and burnt out from striving~
all because
I don't swallow
I don't chew.
Knowing
isn't
Receiving
Receiving is doing.
It is
Picking up the glass
Picking up the fork
when Jesus
says
To Come
all you who are weary~
all who have a starving and thirsty heart..
so He will
give you rest. Matthew 10:28
by filling your heart with
His food that fully satisfies.
Know
Believe
and
Receive
Jesus~
All of what He has told us..
To not just know
To not just believe
but to
receive~
to drink
to eat
To take action
And
Put On
all Who
He says He is
because
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Matthew 5:6
So
let's
Pick up
the glass
Pick up
the fork
and
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8
Because
Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their Shepherd; ‘He will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”
