41st day: Moving Beyond Temptation

And a voice from heaven said,

“This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”Matthew 3:17

A beautiful moment

and then the next moment

the very next sentence~

Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted Matthew 4:1

One moment the blessing

and then

immediately

for the next

40 days

Jesus was led to be tempted.

Sound familiar?

One moment you are flying high

Walking with Jesus

Loving Jesus

Feeling light as feather because you

have fasted from the weights of the world

and then

temptation

calls your name

to pick up

what you have

put off.

The Next Sentence

The Day After

The Moment After~

The 41st day!

Let's go back to

Jesus'

40 days

when

He fasted...

"After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry....Matthew 4:2

He was hungry

He was empty

The perfect time when

the tempter came to Him Matthew 4:3

3 times the tempter came

when Jesus was most vulnerable

when we are most vulnerable

temptation comes knocking at our door

after the fast

after the triumph

on the

41st day~

What Jesus would do

so

What did Jesus do?

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’”

Jesus answered with

The

WORD

OF

GOD

What did Jesus do?

Jesus was hungry

and

He ate~

not of what the tempter was offering

but what His Father has offered

His

WORD.

The power of the

WORD

to

break the power of

temptation.

The temptation

to put back on

what weighs you down...

anxiety

worry

fear

doubt

...to name a few of the weights we have fasted from.

But

we are told how to fast:

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in Jesus—

Put into practice Philippians 4:9

But...

What did Jesus Teach?

What did Jesus Give?

What did Jesus Say?

What did Jesus Do?

He

Put into Practice

so

we can

Put into Practice

we have

learned

from Jesus...

Eat of

His

WORD~

66 books of it

with a

WORD

to

Put On

whenever you

have

to

Put Off~

the weight

that weighs you down.

Since we spent the last 40 days fasting,

by

Putting Off

now let’s

Put On

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in Jesus—

but

it doesn’t stop her

as we are told to

put it into practice~

the moving forward part...

the hard part

from taking

His

WORD

from our head to our heart

by

putting it into practice

because

the One

Who has gone before us

had to

Put into Practice

what He was

Teaching…us

Giving…us

Saying to …us

In order to

Do…for us.

Put it into practice...

And then what?

And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9

Peace

His Peace

that transcends all understanding

that wil

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:8

Peace...

the power of

His Word.

What WORD

do you need to put on when the temptation to

be anxious, worried frustrated, impatient, hurt...(and the rest of the weights of our 40 day fast)

begins to overtake you?

Look it up

it is there.

Want peace

Want joy

Want hope...

It is there

in

His

WORD

and plus

He tells us how to

put it on.

So...

What did Jesus Teach?

What did Jesus Give?

What did Jesus Say?

What did Jesus Do?

Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every

WORD

that comes from the mouth of God.'"

No more fasting

as it is time to

eat,

to gain back

what was lost

and to

Taste and see

today’s

WORD

that will

move you forward

beyond the 40th day...

The word

is

The WORD

“Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see— how good God is. Blessed are you who run to Him.”

Psalm 34:8

Because

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4

Just Say the Word...
