HE saw her. She was still.
No movement.
No breath.
As those around her were filled with grief.
And then HE spoke
"The child is not dead, but asleep" *
And as they heard these words that did not match what they saw~
"they laughed at HIM scornfully"*
Oh but that didn't stop JESUS~
"But HE sent them out and took the father and mother of the child
and those who were with HIM into the room where she was.
Then, taking her by the hand, HE said to her,
'Talitha koumi,' which means, 'LITTLE GIRL ARISE'."*
And then it happened,
because when JESUS speaks HE happens~
"To the astonishment of all, the little girl (who was twelve years of age)
got up at once and walked about" (Mark 5: 39-42).
So who has the last LAUGH?
You & me & everyone else,
because when JESUS reaches out HIS hand
and says
ARISE LITTLE ONE
HE is talking to you & me & everyone else.
And at that moment
you just have to drop whatever else you are holding onto
because it is getting in the way of walking with
the ONE
who causes all to
WALK FREE.
Because when JESUS speaks
it is hard not to listen
because HE speaks what the heart needs to hear.
And all we have to do is respond to HIS voice.
What if the little girl refused to ARISE?
What if the paralyzed man continued to lay on his mat
when JESUS said,
“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home” (Luke 5:24).
What if Lazarus refused to ARISE when
JESUS called him from the tomb,
where he was wrapped in burial clothes for 4 days,
when JESUS said,
“Lazarus, come out!”*?
But
the little girl did & the paralyzed man did
&
Lazarus did~
"Out came the man who had been dead, his hands and feet tightly wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] cloth wrapped around his face.
JESUS said to them,
'Unwrap him and release him'."*
Isn't that what JESUS does?
RELEASES us all from what keeps us dead~
"I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, relies on) ME [as SAVIOR] will live even if he dies;
and everyone who lives and believes in ME [as SAVIOR] will never die"*
And then JESUS asks the life giving, life changing question~
"Do you believe this?”*(John 11)
And oh when the answer is YES
your burial clothes just drop to the ground
and you
ARISE to the occasion.
What is JESUS asking you to
RELEASE
that you are holding onto so tightly?
Because WHAT IF you really LET GO
to the ONE who was born to die so that you could
ARISE ?
Oh my friend
join me as we continue to journey through life
RELEASING ourselves to the ONE who
UNLEASHES us
from
UNFORGIVENESS
FAVOR
&
FEAR
because only
JESUS
takes us from where we were to where we are
to where we are going
that is beyond what our eyes can see.
FORGIVEN PAST. PEACEFUL PRESENT. FOREVER FREE.
LIVE UNLEASHED
and you will be
"WALKING FREE"
