Day 10: Second Best

I am the SECOND.

My husband is the SECOND.

My son is the SECOND.

And now my son's SECOND has just been birthed.

A son.

A new born.

A new life.

The JOY of this moment.

The miracle of birth,

as I remember my SECOND'S birth as if it was yesterday,

And now my little boy is cradling his SECOND.

Oh how we are just the delivery vessels of GOD,

as GOD entrusts a little one into our care,

yet we don't do it alone.

For we are all just vessels

created by HIM for HIM

to be filled with

HIS PEACE & PRESENCE

that is not of ourselves.

Oh to take SECOND place when you want to be first.

To be SEEN when you are not being SEEN.

To be HEARD when you are not being HEARD.

To be TOUCHED when you are not being TOUCHED.

For when we take SECOND place

it is like we are in FIRST

because we are always

SEEN & HEARD & TOUCHED by GOD

because we are all HIS.

As we welcome a brand new SECOND one into our family

it is so humbling as a grandparent,

as you are not in first place to the parents.

For you move to the side

and pass the baton to your child

as the life cycle continues.

Looking into the eyes of my SECOND as he looks into the eyes of his SECOND

I am overwhelmed with emotions

as my life flashes before me

as once he was a little baby

awaiting to arrive,

as you were too.

a baby

created by GOD for GOD

just because

GOD wanted to create you.

Oh SECOND place is the best.

And even third, fourth, fifth, ...

for when we move to the side

then

JESUS is FIRST

and our place no longer matters

because

A GOD WHO MATTERS SAYS WE MATTER AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS

As we bring July to close

August 1 will arrive and then August SECOND

and then ...

you know how this works.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

Sunrise to Sunset.

So let's finish this month well

and take SECOND place

and move to the side

so that JESUS can do what HE came to do

to be our every PLACE

because HE IS~

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End"

(Revelation 22:13)
