EVERYBODY doesn't want to have THEM.
EVERYBODY tries to pretend that they don't have THEM.
BUT you & I are an
EVERYBODY~
so why do we fight against THEM?
THEY dictate our moments that roll into hours that roll into a day.
You try stuffing THEM, numbing THEM, ignoring THEM,
but THEY just won't go away
because THEY are trying to get out.
THEY made you who you are
and come in all different shapes and sizes.
And then you meet someone
who just starts talking about
THEM
and you wonder~
How can they talk about THEM?
How can they talk about THEM with such a peace~
a peace that you so crave~
yet you are so terrified to share

what if they only knew
WHAT you have been
stuffing, numbing & pretending what wasn't there~
THEM~
a part of you that you wish you could forget?

JESUS.

HE may have worked for them.
HE may be your religion.
HE may have come into their life

JESUS

So you look into the eyes of the person

MAN CALLED JESUS
who
ONCE UPON A TIME
came into their life
and
un~stuffed, un~numbed, u-masked
them
by
taking their pain, hurt, bitterness, guilt & shame
the moment they looked into the eyes of
THIS MAN CALLED JESUS
who made them radically
DIFFERENT
the moment they were courageous enough to bring their
pain, hurt, bitterness, guilt & shame
to
the place where
JESUS
became so real~
on the
CROSS
where
JESUS took every nail for
you & me & everybody else.
We all have THEM
&
only JESUS
can do with THEM
what we can never do with THEM~
cover THEM with HIMSELF
so that we can stop
stuffing, numbing & pretending
that everything is okay~
because everything isn't okay
until
JESUS becomes more than just a man
who is just part of some storybook
the moment
you & me & everyone else
meets HIM at the foot of the Cross
where HE meets you & me & everyone else
& changes you forever.
