My mind went blank
when I was writing out a check.
Such a simple task
until it came to filling out the date.
I remembered the month and the day
and then it happened~
is it 2019 or 2020?
My mind went blank,
which is quite scary
especially since my mind never is blank.
But in that moment
I stopped.
I really stopped.
What is the year?
I had to pull up the calendar
on my phone
and there it was
2019.
Wow.
A senior moment
Or
was it a
MULTITASKING
moment
because I was doing 4000 things at one time
while thinking about 4000 things at one time
while I was trying to complete one simple task
as writing the date.
MULTITASKING~
Never getting anything done
because while you doing what you need to do
you are doing everything else that you need to do.
MULTITASKING~
Doing everything at once, but nothing at all.
MULTITASKING~
Not living in the moment
Because the moment that you are in
is actually another moment.
MULTITASKING~
You are probably doing it right now.
MULTITASKING~
Not being present because you are being present somewhere else.
So
How does multitasking keep you from being in the present?
Think About it~
What if JESUS MULTITASKED~
While
HE was feeding the 5000
While
HE was also
Walking on Water
&
Healing the Blind Man
&
Turning Water into Wine
&
Teaching the Sermon on the Mount
&
Calming the Sea
While
Eating HIS Last Supper
Hmm...
But
JESUS
was
Always Present~
even on the cross
because
HE was thinking about you and I
or
HE would have never got on the cross
So that
HE could be
Present in your Present~
To walk with you
To wipe your tears
To strengthen you
To be your peace
To be your hope
To just be
all you need when you need it.
Have you ever
MULTITASKED while being with JESUS?
If you have
you wouldn't be able to
MULTITASKING
very long because you would be in the presence of the
One Who is Always Present.
MULTITASKING
Martha tried it~
"As she was distracted with all her preparations"
even in the Presence of JESUS
until their eyes met the moment
HE spoke to her~
“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
but one thing is necessary."
JESUS
had to say her name twice~
probably because she had to hear it twice
because
she was doing twice as much as what she thought
she had to do
instead of
doing the most important thing first,
like
Mary did,
"who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what HE said"~
Mary who
"has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:38-42)
Hmm.
Lesson learned in 2019
for
MULTITASKING
me & possibly
MULTITASKING
you.
Let's do the most important first
&
Invite JESUS into our
MULTITASKING Mess
because
HE is always in the moment
to take us
from doing the many
to
doing the one thing that
"... is better and will not be taken away from"
you or I
so that we will get all that we need to get done~
One thing at a time
Moment by Moment
while enjoying every moment of it.
You are only one step away.
So how many things are you going to do right now?
