You cover your face,
just wanting to hide~
Feeling Ashamed!
Ashamed Defined: Embarrassed of self; Falling short
Have you ever felt ashamed?
Are you feeling ashamed right now
because of something you did or are doing
or something that someone you love has did or is doing?
Feeling Ashamed~
We learned from the very best
from the very beginning
when God created Adam and Eve
& then when
Eve picked something that she wasn't supposed to pick
& gave it to Adam
& they ate it
&
Immediately
they were
Ashamed
so they hid
because the shame was so great.
"Then the Lord God called to the man, 'Where are you?'" Genesis 3:9
God came looking for them,
when He already knew where they were.
Why didn't God just get rid of them at the moment, and start all over again?
He could have
because He created them
&
then they created the mess.
But God
brought them out of hiding~
so who were they really hiding from?
Shame
was birthed.
Shame
is an intense feeling of angst
that makes you wish you could evaporate
because of a choice you have made, no matter how big or small,
or because of a choice someone else made that has affected you.
Shame
is real
&
going into hiding is the easiest thing to do.
What makes you want to hide?
Are you hiding right now?
And if you are,
Who are you really hiding from?
But God
Comes looking for us.
He sees us
in the midst of
Shame
&
because
He so loves us
He sent His Son~
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." Romans 8:1
So
If you & If I
are not condemned
why do we condemn ourselves
when
we do something that we wish we didn't do~ "It happens so regularly that it’s predictable. The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God’s commands,
but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight.
Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge." Romans 7:21-23
So
do you & do I then hide in
Shame
Feeling Ashamed
and just give up?
"I’ve tried everything and nothing helps. I’m at the end of my rope.
Is there no one who can do anything for me? Isn’t that the real question?"
And
"The answer, thank God, is that Jesus Christ can and does.
He acted to set things right in this life of contradictions where
I want to serve God with all my heart and mind,
but am pulled by the influence of sin to do something totally different." Romans 7:24-25
"Therefore,
there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." Romans 8:1
So
let's
Come out of hiding
and
Fast
from the weight of
Shame
By
Taking the Hand of the
One Who
Sees You
Hears You
&
Accepts You
just as you are, not as who you think you should be~
No matter what you have done
No matter what you are doing or feeling
No matter what you may do in the future.
Uncover your face
because
He wants to look directly into your eyes to
Tell you
I love you
because
