All About Me Day
Do you remember that day?
I never had that day in school,
but my children have.
A day that was all about them.
For their special day
they made a poster
with their favorite pictures
and also brought to school
their favorite show and tell items,
and I even got to contribute
their favorite baked good that they helped me make
or should I say thatI helped them bake.
It was like an all day birthday party
because it was
All About Me Day~
when everyone around you
paid attention to you
and celebrated you
just because you are you.
Hmm...
Well get your poster board
and your pictures ready
because today is the day
because it is
All About Me Day
for you and for me
because He said~
"The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.." Jeremiah 31:3
I have loved you with an
Everlasting love~
what is that kind of love?
Everlasting defined: Lasting forever or for a very long time.
There is an "Everlasting" flower,
also called
Immortelle .
Hmm....
Immortal, which is defined as
Living forever; never dying or decaying;
Deserving to be remembered forever..
Deserving.
Do you feel deserving to be remembered forever, to be loved forever?
Do I feel deserving to be remembered forever,
even when I am not acting deserving?
It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how
God's love for me is
everlasting.
I am and you are
"deserving" of His love,
because of His grace
It isn't because of what you or I have or haven't done,
It is "just because" of who He is and what He has done.
I love the description of the
Everlasting Flower~
that
it retains its shape and color after being dried.
How does something retain its shape and color after it has been dried, died?
How "dried" up do I feel when I have sinned,
when I have chosen to look the other way instead of into the eyes of my Lord.
Oh how dried up was I, when I didn't have Him in my life.
But thanks to God
who took this dried up flower, and watered me back to life.
My soul, that was dried up
is now
Retaining
its original shape and color.
that will shine into eternity.
.all because of
Jesus'
everlasting love
for me & for you.
So I ask myself,
.What do I do, or what causes me to get dried up?
Where in my life do I feel dried up?
How about you?
Whatever that answer may be,
it is the place in our heart
where the Lord is just waiting to fill with
His
Everlasting love
. Will I open up my heart to Him?
Will I receive Him with thanksgiving?
Will you?
Will I repent of my sin, and "pick up my mat and walk" as the lame man did in John 5,
after Jesus healed him?
Will you?
Today is
All About Me Day
because it is all about Him~
He who loves you with an
Everlasting Love~
A Love that has been given to you.
A Love that will never be taken from you
Not because of who I am But because of what You've done Not because of what I've done But because of Who you are (Casting Crowns)
