The Spelling Test~
my first test
my favorite test
because
you get the test ahead of time.
The question is the word
The answer is the word
and all you have to do is
learn how to spell the word.
As you move up a grade
you just don't have to
spell the word
you now have to use it in a sentence,
but not in this sentence....
"Do you know how to spell the word ____________"
because you have to use it
like you know what it means.
Now,
defining the word
becomes part of the assignment
which now turns the
spelling test
into a
vocabulary test
so that you not only know how to spell the word
so that you not only know how to use it in a sentence
but now you will know how to use it in life.
Pretty straight forward,
so why complicate it?

Let's take
the word
from the head
to the heart..

FAITH
FAITH is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1
LOVE
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. I Corinthians 13:4
FRUIT
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
SAVED
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be SAVED. Romans 10:9
BLESSED
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3-10
Hmm....I think that deserves extra credit!
The Spelling Test
has taken on more meaning
because the word has taken on more meaning
WORD
Your WORD is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105
Back to Basics
Back to School
It is quite easy
to pass the test every time
because you have
the question and the answer
all
wrapped up in the
WORD.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. John 1:1
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.
Proverbs 3:1-2
